“The War That Changed Rondo”
is an animated film based on the book of the same title by Art Studio Agrafka. This is a major studio project, and of course I didn't work on it alone. I was the animator and head of the department for skeletal animation (CutOut).
This film holds an important place in my heart — we made it before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and it turned out to be prophetic. The movie is silent, so you can watch it regardless of your native language.
Animation
Based on the book of the same name, showing how war has no heart and understands no one’s language. It concerns everyone and leaves scars, yet when we build a machine of light together and keep singing, even the most fragile can survive and win.
From the director
War came to our home — not today, but eight years ago. Ukraine needs the support of the civilized world, and most of all we need each other. If we stand as one, we will defeat the enemy.
Rondo is a hometown of kind gentle creatures. Suddenly, War comes to Rondo. Balloon dog Fabian, paper bird Zirka, glass lightbulb boy Danko and his singing flower overcome their fear and find a way to defeat the mighty enemy.
