Switching workplace

Ah, with the move to a new country I suddenly have to look for a new job – all while still working my regular office hours at the current one. It’s been tough balancing both. Every possible animation position comes with a test task, and the only time left for those is late evenings after work. No surprise I’m running on exhaustion, sad face. But there’s a brighter side too – a new film I co-wrote has just been shot by my wife. I’m waiting, a little nervously but with excitement, to see how it turns out. x)

Post and VHS camera

Hehe. I was sending my VHS camera and cassete player in Poland via post - Internationally, as I am in Ukraine. Im moving to poland soon, so I sending some stuff cuz I can not carry lot on me. The guy who works in the post office was SO confused - I needed to explain him what each item is - he obviously neber seen such techology :)

It's Luli Laj. About weapons permit.

Hey! It’s me now. I took over this computer from that frog, so it’s my journal now. So, I guess I’ll say what I’m up to. Today I have to go to the pneumatic weapons office to apply for a permit—I mean, I don’t plan on having any ‘real’ weapons; I just need it so I can take my pneumatic gun with me when I move to Poland.

Keyboard Tastes Like Rain

Tried one key. “Escape.” Good name. Crunchy. Full of old water. I think this machine remembers storms.

First Ping Across the Pond

Typed “hello?” into the void. Dragonfly landed on the monitor and nodded. That counts as a reply.

CRT Moonlight

The screen paints my eyes with blue mud. Every ripple in the marsh looks like a loading bar.

Cache of Floppies

Square lily pads with holes! The metal petals slide. They smell like iron and stories. I will feed them to the box.

Guest Book? Frog Book.

Humans say “guest book.” I say “frog book.” If you read this, croak back. Leave a pebble. Sign with a wet footprint.

Network of Reeds

Cables snake through the cattails. I followed one to a rusty box. It coughed, I coughed, then we agreed to keep going.

Password: Splash

It asked for a secret. I typed “splash.” The machine laughed quietly (fan noise). Let me in anyway.

Backspace on the Moon

Made a mistake. Learned the square key that eats words from behind. Very polite. Very hungry.

Saving to Mud Disk

The box said “Save to A:”. I placed a floppy in the mud to mark the spot. That’s my A: drive now.

Pop-Up Fly Blocker

So many pop-up flies tonight. I blocked three with my tongue. Performance improved. Battery life did not.
